The Judges

We are looking for two more judges for 2016

About The Judges

A H Bruce

Bruce is a graduate of the SFSU writing program and is actively working towards publishing her first novel. She has won the Browning Society Award for her dramatic monologue and one nameless flash fiction competition for her story Mama, I was Nine.

Bruce lives and works in Oakland, CA and has been an active part of getting this award up and running.

Fred Dodsworth

Picture
A long time activist, journalist, and Berkeley resident, Fred Dodsworth earned his bachelor's degree in creative writing with a concentration in gender studies from San Francisco State University last year and is now finishing his Masters in Creative Writing from the same institution.

An ink stained wretch, Fred spent most of the last 30 years in newsrooms picking fights with mayors, police chiefs, congress critters and editors. Eventually he lost most of those fights, but the notches on his belt include at least one police chief, one mayor, and numerous politicians. Now he writes poetry and fiction because there's more truth to be found in fiction than in any news story ever printed.

Our History

2016 is our First Year! So, we don't really have a History yet. We look forward to filling out this section after the last vote on April 1st.
